The Ease of Doing Business index ranks economies from 1 to 181. The index is calculated as the ranking on the simple average of country percentile rankings on each of the 10 topics covered in Doing Business: starting a business, dealing with licenses, hiring and firing, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, and closing a business.
